Ronja Azul at OSH

The brand new well boat ‘Ronja Azul’ will be alongside our Invertote site for the next few days to carry out a routine fresh water treatment to our salmon.

This is the second job for the vessel - which is owned by the world’s largest well boat operator Sølvtrans AS - since she was delivered from her builders in Norway.

A freshwater treatment is like a freshwater bath for our salmon, and is used to help combat the natural challenges that the summer environment can present to the fish.

By using the state-of-the-art ‘Ronja Azul’, we are investing in the latest, most fish friendly, non-chemical technology to help our livestock continue to thrive.

Petter Gunnarstein, Sales Manager at Solvtrans, said:

“Ronja Azul is brand new and had her naming ceremony on the 9th July. She is vessel no. 2 of 7 of the series of 3,000m3 well capacity vessels that are being delivered from Aas Mek. This is the second job for vessel after being delivered earlier this month.”
