(An shal-ugh - long ‘gh’ sound)

For our Facal Gàidhlig Friday this week, we’re taking a wee trip around some of the best viewpoints on the Trotternish peninsula.

The OSH sites are located between:

Creag an Fhèilidh - Kilt Rock

Bodach nan Stòir - the Old Man of Storr

Tha Gàidhlig na h-Alba aig cridhe OSH, agus tha sinn air bhioran a bhith ag obair air cuid de stuthan sanasachd leis an iomairt #cleachdi aig Bòrd na Gàidhlig gus daoine eile a bhrosnachadh gus an cànan a chleachdadh!

Scottish Gaelic is a large part of Organic Sea Harvest. We have fluent speakers and learners amongst our directors and teams, and are surrounded by the language in our island communities.

OSH are proud to encourage the speaking and use of Gaelic including:

  • a’ cleachdadh Gàidhlig air feadh na meadhanan sòisealta agus an làrach-lìn againn | using Gaelic throughout our social media & website
  •  a’ toirt a-steach Gàidhlig ann an ainmean puist-d a’ chompanaidh againn, ag àrdachadh mothachadh le co-obraichean agus com-pàirtichean | including Gaelic in our company email signatures, raising awareness to colleagues and partners
  • a’ brosnachadh cleachdadh a’ chànain a-steach agus a-mach à OSH | encouraging the use of Gaelic inside and outside OSH

Every Friday, we will post a Gaelic word relating to our salmon, operations and home communities. This is another example of something we are doing to showcase our support for Gaelic, and encourage everyone to use it.
