Sites Team

Sgioba air a’ mhuir | Sites management team

Organic Sea Harvest employs staff who work at sea across multiple different roles. These include site managers, farm technicians, fish health and welfare, and vessel crews.

Find out more about some of the people behind the roles:

Robaidh Halliday - Farms Manager

Robaidh, from Uig, worked as a commercial fisherman on both creel boats and trawlers before starting his career in the aquaculture industry.  He progressed quickly from a general technician to a senior technician role.

After joining Organic Sea Harvest in April 2020, Robaidh was appointed Farm Manager of the Invertote site in September 2020 and overall Farms Manager in 2023.

Robaidh has completed SVQ's in Aquaculture through the University of the Highlands & Islands (Inverness College), which has allowed him to progress his career in the industry. He has always had a keen interest in working at sea and the aquaculture industry has allowed him to continue working at sea, but with a good work/family balance - he's been able to bring up his family (with three young children) on his home island.

Robaidh is a very family oriented man and enjoys spending his time off with his family.

Euan McArthur - Farms Development Manager

Euan has worked in the aquaculture industry since 1989, starting his career at the freshwater Strathaird Farms based on Skye. Euan moved to the sea water site as a Farm Technician and over the past thirty years has served as site manager and as an area manager.

A native of Skye, Euan is married and has two grown up daughters, both of who still live on the island. His parents owned a shop in Portree (known locally as 'Harry's') with the family business also offering a home delivery service, previously with their own mobile grocery vans.

On leaving Portree High School, Euan attended Ellwood Agriculture College. He remains an active crofter and has farmed a Suckler herd with his family for the past 34 years.

With this background, Euan says that health and wellbeing is the most important part of farming, alongside working within the communities on Skye.

Kenny Cushnie - Trainee Site Manager

Originally from Lochcarron in Wester Ross, Kenny joined OSH in 2021.

Kenny leads the team out on site in the daily operations of the company. He brings plenty of experience working in exposed aquaculture locations, which means that he knows and understands the challenging conditions that the team can often be faced with at our own exposed sites.

When he's not at sea, you'll often find Kenny on the shinty pitch, currently playing for Skye Camanachd.

Paddy MacInnes - Assistant Site Manager

When Paddy first joined Organic Sea Harvest in October 2020, he was new to working in the aquaculture industry, although many of his family members work as fishermen, or are in the merchant navy and aquaculture industry.

Starting off as a site technician, Paddy was promoted to Trainee Assistant Manager in 2023 and then to full Assistant Manager in 2024.

Paddy is a member of the Skye Rugby team and is also a keen player of shinty and football too.

Alasdair Connor - Fish Feed Manager

Alasdair, or 'AB' as he's more informally known, took up the position of Fish Feed Manager in March 2024. The introduction of this new, dedicated role marked an important step in the OSH journey in order to help the company achieve a more sustainable and accurate fish feeding process.

Much of AB's role involves monitoring the salmon closely and taking factors such as salmon growth and water temperature into consideration when deciding what quantity of feed should be sent to site.

AB also works alongside our organic fish feed suppliers, Cargill, to help ensure that our salmon receive the highest quality feed.

Caitlin Mackinnon - Health Safety Quality & Environment (HSQE) Coordinator

Caitlin is originally from Broadford in the south of Skye.

She is new to salmon farming, but her family has a small boat in which she has enjoyed family fishing trips on. Caitlin also has family connections to the aquaculture industry, making the step into the industry herself in June 2024.

The health and safety of all aspects of operations within the company, along with the general wellbeing of staff, is at the heart of Caitlin's role at Organic Sea Harvest. She is passionate about showcasing the highest standards in the aquaculture industry both in the care of the salmon but also of the site and shore staff.

Outside of work at OSH, Caitlin spends her time caring for her miniature Shetland ponies.
