Health Safety Quality and Environment (HSQE) Coordinator

Organic Sea Harvest is a multi-award winning salmon farming company based on the Isle of Skye. We operate to some of the stricest aquaculture and organic farming standards in the world.


OSH are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated applicant to join the business, working alongside the farming teams at sea, to help ensure that we are meeting and conforming to exacting quality assurance, environmental and Health and Safety standards.


Duties will be varied with responsibilities across the entire business. The HSQE Coordinator will report to the Quality Assurance and Compliance Director and, amongst other tasks, will be responsible for:


  • Day-to-day management of all Quality Systems.
  • Day-to-day management of all Health & Safety systems, working with external H&S consultants and senior management to continuously develop practical, safe working practices.
  • Delivering internal audits and checks to drive continuous improvement.
  • Working as part of our operational team to problem solve and provide practical solutions to every day challenges.
  • Developing positive stakeholder relationships, including government regulators, farm certifiers, equipment suppliers, etc.


Whilst knowledge and experience of quality systems or Health and Safety management is an advantage it is not necessary as Organic Sea Harvest will provide all relevant mentoring, training and qualifications. Ideal candidates will:


  • Have a positive attitude with an interest in farming healthy seafood for people to enjoy.
  • Be able to demonstrate strong technical knowledge with clear ability to be organised and analytical.
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job.
  • Respect others and safe working practices.


The company is based in Staffin in the North East of the Isle of Skye. Shared accommodation can be arranged for the right candidate. 


Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 per annum dependent on experience, plus overtime paid at 1½.
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, including weekends when required.
Holidays: 30 days per annum (inclusive of public holidays) for a FTE.
Pension: Attractive package once probationary period has been completed.
