Revisiting community fund projects

Revisiting community fund projects.

The OSH and Cargill teams have been visiting some of the projects that have benefited from our joint ‘Bho Mhuir gu Tìr’ community funding over recent years, to see how each project has progressed!

The Portree Community Allotments project – a combined initiative between Portree & Braes Community Trust SCIO and Skye Housing Association – was awarded £2030.40 in 2022 to install deer fencing around the allotments site and begin initial groundworks.

The site is now thriving and is proving to be an essential part of the community.

Alec McLeod, Project Officer, said:

“The funding that Portree Community Allotments received from Organic Sea Harvest meant that we could construct fencing around our new allotments using the services of local business and the help of volunteers. The allotments now provide a community space for all ages to learn about outdoor growing and their local environment, and we thank Organic Sea Harvest for their contribution to help make this possible.”
